Weekend in Prague – nicest attractions
A lot of Polish travellers like to take a longer weekend off to travel some place nice, especially during the summer. Thanks to cheap airline companies this option is available almost for every one. If you are thinking about some decent destination, you should consider a trip to the Prague. The capital of Czech Republic is very amazing place, with plenty of monuments.
Main Square
Prague was always one of the most important cities in this part of Europe. That is why it architecture is so beautiful and extraordinary. The biggest amount of interesting buildings you can find on the area of Main Square. At the centre of it you will see the old city hall, amazing palace, build in the medieval times. It is very popular because of astronomical clock, the biggest and oldest in the world, which is still working. Another, important spot in there is A Saint Mary before Tyn cathedral. This temple has two, very interesting towers, which looks like those from fairly tales.
Monuments
Close to the main square you will find the Charles Bridge, one of the most popular object in entire Prague. It is very common meeting point, where you will be able to meet plenty of tourists, buy some souvenirs and even get your own portrait from local artist. After you past the bridge you will head a road to the Hradczany, the royal district of city, founded in fourteenth century. At the top of the hill of the same name you will be able to admire the Royal Castle. It is beautiful building, founded in medieval times and reconstructed within next centuries. Part of it chambers is opened for tourists to see, you will admire in there sophisticated interior design.
Another attractions
If you like to see totally different face of Prague, you have to take a tour to the Zizkov, the Jewish district. It is very amazing area, with plenty of Synagogues, lovely mansions and other remains of Jewish culture. In this area a famous, Czech writer, Franz Kafla, used to live. You will find his statue in this neighbourhood. If you like to admire a panorama over entire city, you have to visit Petřínská rozhledna. It is very tall tower made of steel, at the top of it you will reach an observation deck. People who are interested in the extraordinary architecture will appreciate a Dancing House, for sure. It is really interesting complex of buildings which looks like they were dancing. Another important building, this time founded in medieval times is Karlstjen, beautiful castle designed in Gothic style.
